Community Guidelines

We are pleased to welcome you to our platform. As an important pillar of our work and the China Hub project, the China Hub platform serves to promote professional exchange, information and networking within the China-oriented Bavarian university and science community as well as the promotion of China expertise. The China Hub platform therefore represents a protected space for our members. In order to guarantee this protection in the long term, we are sharing our community guidelines with you here.

This is what we wish (Dos):

  • Feedback, questions and additional information
  • Collegial discussions and thematic exchange
  • Topic reference: Stick to the topic of the post, for a new topic you are welcome to create a new post / discussion
  • Truthful information (also regarding profile information)
  • Stick to the facts (fact-checking)
  • Identify quotes
  • Objective argumentation
  • Trustworthy sources
  • Adequate and comprehensible language

This is what we don't want to see (Don'ts):

  • Advertising and other commercial content
  • Spamming: Multiple posts with the same or similar content
  • Flooding: “Flooding” the debate with a high number of posts
  • Statements that do not fit the topic of the post or the community
  • False information
  • Private conversations under a post: Please use the message function for this
  • Uncommentary links, links to websites without an imprint and links to websites with content relevant to criminal law

Procedure for moderation

1) Moderation

Any post on our portal can be published without prior review; the moderators are not obliged to check it for accuracy, topicality or completeness. However, we reserve the right to review all posts or shared content retrospectively and to take measures in accordance with 2) and 3) if our community guidelines are violated, without this requiring a separate justification. You can simply use the contact form or send us an e-mail with a reference to the post in question.

2) Deletion

We reserve the right to remove posts that do not comply with our community guidelines or do not contribute to the discussion. In addition, we may end discussions or close the comment function completely if the guidelines are not adhered to.

3) Blocking

Members who repeatedly violate our guidelines will be banned from using the China Hub platform.

4) Structure/ organization of the platform

As the content of the platform depends on the contributions of its members and any new topics that may arise, we reserve the right to occasionally adapt the structure of the platform. Your contributions, content and comments will not be lost in this case, but may be found elsewhere.
